01/07/2020 - demolition of the Clark Motors building started. The new 50 flat development is essentially 4 storey high with a 5th floor within the pitched roof, reducing slightly as the development progresses up the Craiglockhart Avenue slope (in referring to the drawings, the south west elevation on elevation E4 shows how the slope is utilised at the uppermost end of the site).
02/03/2020 - No response was received to our subsequent enquiry. It can be presumed that the pandemic will delay the final go ahead
02/09/2019 - CEC are “Minded to Grant” the Planning Application for 50 units provided a legal agreement is entered
into within 6 months.
15/06/2019 - We have recently been notified of the latest amendments to the design incorporated into Planning Application 18/08232/FUL i.e. for 57 Flats at No 1 Lanark Road (formerly Clarke's Motors)
05/11/2018 - Meeting to hear what the developer proposes for this site.
15/10/2018 - Application made to CEC - Demolition of existing motor dealership and erection of new residential development comprising 57 flats, upgraded vehicular access, new pedestrian access, car and cycle parking and associated soft and hard landscaping. Comments required by 02nd November
09/08/2018 - Exhibition of proposed design was held at Water of Leith Centre. Planning Application is expected to be submitted for comment in September 2018. The architect is McLaren, Murdoch and Hamilton and the proposal is for 57 Units (previously 69) with 30 parking bays (previously 41)
